What is Baptism?
Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the two ordinances given to the church by the Lord Jesus Christ as signs of the spiritual realities in our life.
Baptism signifies our adoption into Christ, our fellowship with Christ in his death, burial, and resurrection, our remission of sins, and our giving up into God, through Jesus Christ, to live and walk in newness of life. Together, Baptism and the Lord’s Supper point to what God has done for us, through us, and to us.
Baptism does not bring about salvation but receiving it is an act of obedience to Christ’s command to his church.
